Classification: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Salary Range: $21.00 – $23.20 per hour

Reports to: Executive Director

Skagit Preschool and Resource Center (SPARC) is a non-profit organization who provides individualized services for families and their children with unique developmental needs, from birth through age 5 in Skagit County. We are looking for a motivated individual who excels at relationship building to help grow this mission.

This position will oversee donor relations, fundraising initiatives, identify, write, and report on grants. Ultimately, building a stronger development team between community members, board members and staff.

Essential Functions:

(Include the following but are not limited to, other duties may be assigned)

  • Maintain company website and online profiles
  • Develop and execute annual fundraising plan
  • Create and execute a strategy for large sustained base of annual individual donors
  • Direct capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives
  • Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems
  • Oversee creation of publications to support fund raising activities
  • Design, document, and implement a systematic and integrated donor relations program
  • Establish and manage information tracking processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, on-going  communications
  • Continued cultivation of past and current donors and members to enhance their relationship with SPARC and increase the likelihood of continued contributions
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and program managers to understand program growth and needs
  • Collaborate with program managers and the Executive Director to develop gran budgets
  • Track gran progress through collaboration with program managers and Executive Director
  • Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements
  • Assist with final reports for grants and other writing needs
  • Attend internal and external meetings, fairs and community events as required
  • Maintain physical donor communication materials and inventory of general development team supplies
  • Answer general development phone inquiries
  • Provide professional assistance and interaction with donors
  • As appropriate, provide prospect research for Executive Director
  • Solicit In-Kind donations for various events
  • Collaborate with current grant writers through transition
  • Maintain confidentiality within SPARC
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, volunteers, internal staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners and all constituencies
  • Exceptional understanding of philanthropy as it relates to the non-profit organization and in-depth knowledge of fundamental disciplines and resource development
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a Skills to work with motivated staff, board members  and volunteers
  • Knowledge and ability to create, execute and/or support, and oversee a comprehensive donor acknowledgment and recognition plan, including advising on complex and carefully cultivation orchestrated events and programs for the major donors

Required Education, Training, Experience:

  • Must be 18 years or older, and a positive, cooperative attitude
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Understands basic English language
  • Must be able to speak, write and present in English with professionalism
  • Proficient in writing skills

Preferred Education, Training, Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, Marketing Communications, or related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and web-site based platforms

  • Excellent time management skills and a high degree of organization and careful attention to detail

Work Environment:

Work is regularly performed in office environments routinely utilizing standard office equipment, computers and phones.

Position Type/Expected hours of work:

This is a full-time position 32-36 hours per week. Standard days of work are Monday through Thursday.  This position may occasionally require work during non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends.
